Our
mission is to offer children the best opportunity in the Bramcote
and surrounding areas to develop and achieve their maximum potential
in the sport of swimming.
We aim to achieve this by providing a secure, caring and orderly
environment where each child is encouraged to work together during
training and to compete as a team as well as an individual.
We hold annual club championships, and encourage all members to
compete in local and national competitions, participating in both
team and individual events. We work closely with Broxtowe Council
and local schools to increase our membership and develop the sport
long term within the borough.
Bramcote Swimming Club takes non-swimmers from 4 to 7 and improvers
from 8 years of age. They are taught the basic techniques of all
four swimming strokes of breaststroke; freestyle; backstroke and
butterfly and taken to a level of competency where they will be
transferred to the splash pool in the main pool area. At this stage
they will be considered for a place in one of our 3 excellent swimming
squads.
The swimming squads represent the Club in competitive galas around
the region. Bramcote hosts some of the galas, but we also travel
to places like Hucknall, Mansfield, Hinckley, Braunstone, and Carlton
to name just a few!
There are six sessions in the teaching pool where your child will
be one of a small group of children all of a similar level of competence.
When your child comes to the club their ability will be assessed
to make sure they join at the right level. Assessments generally
take place on a Tuesday evening. New Swimmers are assessed by the
coaching staff and are placed into groups based upon their age and
capabilities.
Main Pool swimmers are put into one of our three swim squads A,
B or C, or in the development squad by the coaching staff, based
on their age and capabilities.
