Bird and Scotney achieve success in Midlands swimming championships

Two young Nottingham swimmers achieved success at the Midlands Youth Championships held at Coventry last month. Emma Bird achieved an outstanding result in both the 100m and 200m breast stroke, comfortably winning both events. Aged 16, Bird is one of the top swimmers in the country. She trains with Bramcote Hills Swimming Club and Nova Centurions.

Up and coming swimmer Hannah Scotney, 15, was competing in only her second Midlands event. She reached the final in the 400m IM, coming away with a new personal best. Both swimmers now hope to go on to compete in the National Championships being held later this year.
